Herriman

Herriman is a city located in the southwest part of Salt Lake County. The population was 1,523 in 2000. The city, although not entirely new, has exploded in population during the last five years. The city was incorporated on June 17, 1999 and by 2005 the estimated population had already reached 11,226. Between 2000 and 2005, Herriman soared from being the 111th-largest incorporated place in Utah to the 41st-largest.

There were 437 households out of which 55.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 82.2% were married couples living together, 4.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 11.0% were non-families. 8.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.49 and the average family size was 3.73.

About 2.9% of families and 3.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.7% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
