Sandy

Sandy is the sixth largest city in Salt Lake County.  In 2000 the city had a total population of 88,418. A 2005 estimate placed its population at 89,664.

South Towne Center claims the title of "Utah's Largest Shopping Destination." The mall has two levels and more than 150 shops, as well as giants such as JCPenney, Dillard's and Mervyn's. There is also is a large variety of smaller stores, such as The Children's Place, Victoria's Secret and REI. The mall hosts a slew of community events, including trick-or-treating for Halloween and a local farmers' market on Fridays and Saturdays in the summer.

About 2.8% of families and 3.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.0% of those under age 18 and 5.7% of those age 65 or over.
